Good scale and easy to read LCD display at an cost-effective cost. Scale is calibrated well; compared my weight to our analog scale at home and a digital scale at function, and there was only a difference of 2-3 lbs. The scale I received was a different model/style compared towards the silver model shown (mine had dark wood bars on the underside as well as the LCD housing was black plastic). This was fine; I like the option model also. The only dilemma using the scale is one of the plastic pegs that assists keep the LCD display attached to the glass broke off in shipping. It's nonetheless attached from the other two pegs, but that's primarily the problem I had with the scale. (More Detail...)

I've employed a simple model from Tanita for over five years and was as happy as a man with one clock -- I knew specifically what time it was. The added characteristics of the BC554 had been irresistable, but now I had two sources of information and they were not in agreement by a significant amount (e.g. 3% body fat difference on a base of 16%). The weight measurement is as great as ever: precise, accurate and consistent. The very best that will be said of the other functions is that they appear to be directionally correct and some are just 'figures of merit', not measurements at all. Consumer support is surprising. When I asked the inevitable questions via their net web site, I received a telephone call from them. The answers produced sense, but only reinforce my assessment. It appears that the algorithms are based on a statistical sample using gender, age, height, and 'athleticism'. If your actual profile is close towards the sample population, the accuracy is possibly fairly good. But as you progress toward 'athletic' and away from the calibration population, accuracy declines. Just got this yesterday and so far it appears pretty accurate. I put 60 lbs of fitness center weights on it and it was off by about .2 lb. I do not want it to be totally accurate just as long as it is close and consistent. It looks wonderful. The backlight can be a large plus. I truly purchased this at Costco. It was about $25 with a $5 off sale, so it cost me $20. Had I identified how great this 1 was I would have purchased it here for this cost had Costco not had it. (More...)

Really like, really like, enjoy this Conair digital scale! I'm close to my Weight Watchers goal of losing 35 pounds, and this scale has helped me in my journey. It truly is consistently accurate (will not display diverse weights when weighing minutes apart) and weighs inside some ounces of the scale at my WW meeting. I so appreciate the accuracy of this scale. I weigh when per day and will probably be in a position to rein it in ahead of 1 or two pounds turn into ten! The glass and chrome design make this scale an attractive addition to my bathroom, and the big display is actually fantastic, too. I extremely suggest this scale.
